What We Do

What we do - kids on beach

We provide a range of residential activity and respite breaks that allows children aged 7-11 to escape the traumas of their everyday life and simply become children again.

The children we help often experience:

  • Domestic violence
  • The effects of alcohol and drug abuse
  • Physical, emotional, neglect and sexual abuse
  • Dangerous environments and neighbourhoods
  • Social isolation
  • Bullying
  • Low self-esteem
  • Caring responsibilities
  • Severe poverty

How we help the children:

  • They swim in the sea and build sandcastles, for many children this is the first time they have been to the beach.
  • They become more positive about their own capabilities and their future
  • They learn about the benefits of a healthy diet, exercise and table manners
  • They can develop new social skills by interacting with others
  • They play, learn and are cared for in safe and encouraging environments
  • They spend quality time with adults who provide positive role models
  • They grow in confidence by challenging themselves and trying new activities
  • They learn to be more independent and self sufficient
  • They meet and make new friends

"My week was brilliant. I made so many new friends."

What we do - kid together

'' My wife and I boarded a train at East Croydon and observed a group of CCHF All About Kids, children heading down to Sussex for a break with their leader and volunteers. I was so impressed with what I saw that I decided there and then to support the charity.''
